"Arkansas Barn" 21x28 Framed Watercolor
by Jimmy Magourik |
Jimmy Magouirk – “Arkansas Barn”
21x28 Framed Watercolor Regular gallery price - $300.00 Sale price - $150.00 -- SOLD "As much as I like to at least start a work en plein air, I used a photograph from my camera as a reference. I was very pleased how the grasses seem to flow and I think the painting hints of early autumn. I focused on subtle color complements and value changes. I still find this work giving back to me what I saw to begin with."

Joan McCracken –“Animas Forks Townsite” 12” x 18” Photo Mounted on Wood Regular gallery price: $120 Sale price: $60 "Animas Forks is a ghost town north of Silverton Colorado, which has some of the most historic mining country in Colorado. The building in this picture may have been the General Store or private residence, it is not clear. But Animas Forks has a colorful history that can be found online via Colorado History. The first time I went there was 2010; I was so impressed with this little town I vowed then to return. It is surrounded by magnificent peaks and the Animas River running below them. You can feel the sense of community and the hard work and harsh weather conditions the town’s people must have felt. History says almost 2000 people lived here at one time, and in the winter if it was rough, they had to tunnel between buildings to get around.

"Animas Forks Townsite" 12x8 Photo on Wood
by Joan McCracken |
You access the town by 4-wheel drive dirt roads, passable by most vehicles, but you want to have some good clearance as the road is rough.
On this day in October the air was crisp, and it felt like fall as the sun was just starting to go down and the “golden photography hours” were just beginning as depicted in the shadows. There was no one at the site this evening but my fellow photographer and myself. We had a sense we were not alone and the stories the people that lived there could tell, were thick in the air. We were so inspired by this scene we stayed until we just had to leave.
I shoot my landscape photos with a wide-angle lens and process my images in Lightroom and Photoshop both Adobe products that I have used extensively for years. I strive to keep my images as close to what I saw in the field as possible and do not over process. I did use an HDR process on this image which allows me to capture different aspects of the light and merge them together to bring out highlights and shadows. I have a series of 4 images from Animas Forks available."

"Upper Trail on the Flat Tops" 20½ x 41½ Oil Painting
by George Coll |
George Coll – “Upper Trail to the Flat Tops” 20½x41½” Oil Painting Regular gallery price: $1.000 Sale price: $500 "This painting was inspired by my visit to the Trappers Lake area in North West Colorado. I love the remoteness of the area and had never visited there before. This valley was found on the gravel road going up to the lake and I really fell in love with it. It seemed to have many textures of vegetation and led back into the Flat Tops Mountains which the area is famous for. I painted in studio from the many photo and sketches I made at the time of the visit. Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed painting it. "

Tracy Murphy –
“Garden Pals Garden Totem” 9x29 Ceramic by Tracy Murphy Price: $175 "I love getting dirty, in my garden or with my pastels. Spending time in my garden watching the animals visit and the plants grow are inspirational.
These two ceramic pieces are meant to be put in your garden. Both are whimsical and I hope bring a smile to anyone who sees them. My ceramic sculptures are my playful release, some are more realistic than others, but all are based on my love of nature and belief that we all need a smile every day. Sometimes I have a specific design in mind, other times the clay and my hands just do what they want. That may mean a fish gets a crown, a duck a sailor’s hat or rabbit a neck tie. The fun of seeing different animals or shapes form from a ball of clay is a great pleasure. Then deciding how to glaze them gives me the joy of adding color to give each piece life. The whole process is rewarding to me. I hope that it brings joy to the beholder." -- Tracy Murphy “Mushroom Fairy House”
