Marilyn has a BA in Home Economics/Interior Design from The University of Houston. She has taken additional university courses in Drafting and Accounting.
She served as the volunteer Treasurer of the Colorado Coalition of Artists for three years and the Artists’ Association of Northern Colorado for one year and has displayed her work many times in their shows winning many awards.

She has also shown her work at Colorado State University, Bas Bleu Theatre, Cultural Arts Center of Estes Park, Fort Collins Senior Center, Loveland Public Library, and the Carnegie Center for Creativity in Fort Collins, CO. At the Carnegie Center, she received Best of Show in the 2016 exhibit for her pastel, “Sunswept.” This piece was also selected to hang in Jared Polis’ office in Washington, D.C. for a year.
Juried events have selected her work at the Greeley National Show in 2013, the Pastel Society of Colorado in 2017 and 2019, and 3 Square Art (Fort Collins, CO) for the Petz and Animalz Show and the NOOBAA (abstract) show, both in 2019, Thompson Valley Art League/Lincoln Gallery National Show (2019), and the Landscape Show (2020) and Spring Show (2021) at the R Gallery in Boulder.
Her art-related work history has included interior design of hospital interiors and residences when she worked for an architectural firm in Houston, Texas and a high-end retail furniture store.
