Michael Wilcox enjoyed a lengthy career in the photographic industry beginning as a manager of a retail camera store. His last position before retirement was associate director and division manager for Pentax USA.
In 2008 he took up fine art photography. Michael’s photographic efforts are all about the distillation of visual elements. His goal is to keep his photographs simple but nuanced. Subject matter might be anything but composition must be simple and direct.

. . . including USA Today and have won multiple national awards from the Photographic Society of America. He is recognized as a Master photographer by the Loveland Photographic Society where he serves as competition and mentor chair. He is also the a member and past president of the Thompson Valley Art League.
He was awarded First Place, photography at the Thompson Valley Art League’s 2014 Regional Fine Art Show and the First Place, Photography at the 2015 Cheyenne Railroad Museum Annual Rail Art Show. He was one of only two photographers accepted into the 2015 Colorado Governor’s Art Show and sold several prints during the show. He has also been accepted into the 2017 Colorado Governor’s Art Show. He has served as a jurist and has had work displayed at the Boardwalk Gallery in Windsor.
Michael’s work is on permanent display at the Lincoln Gallery in Loveland, CO and he frequently offers his work and Art Shows in Greeley, Berthoud, Estes Park and of course Art in the Park sponsored by the Thompson Valley Art League.
